Beginner Reiner Challenge Series Questions

  • Riders will need to be a member of an NRHA Oceania Affiliate. If you are already a Member of the CSRHC there are no other membership fees applicable, if not a member of the CSRHC requirement is to pay an Event membership for the duration of the show

  • No qualification is required but you are not able to compete in any other 1 handed NRHA Class at the show.  You are able to complete in Green Reiner (if qualified to do so) & Freestyle. No lifetime earning in any Reinings

  • Any horse can be ridden by the beginner, but the horse must remain the same horse throughout each of the beginner classes.

General Show Questions

  • You need to be a member of the NRHA as well as an NRHA affiliate.

  • If you have shown in an NRHA approved show in the class you wish to nominate in the Championships since the last Oceania Championships, you have qualified for that class with the horse you have shown on with a score or a zero, a No Score is not a qualification. Qualification is a horse/rider combination.  For example, if you nominated and showed in an NRHA approved show and in Rookie 1, you are eligible to complete in Rookie 1 at the Championships.  If you would like to enter Rookie 2 in the Championships, you will need to attend another NRHA approved show to qualify for that class.

    Classes that do not need qualifying are;

    • Beginner Series

    • Freestyle

    • Novice Horse

    • Derby

    • Futurity

    • Para-Reining

    • other non sanctioned classes hosted by the affiliate

International riders do not have to qualify.

  • It is a horse/rider combination for all Affiliate classes for the NRHA Oceania Affiliate Championships.

  • Warmup Pen Rules are circles on the hour and run downs on the half hour.

Please use your common sense in the pen.  If there are too many horses you may need to wait until some finish their session.

Ideally you do not have headphones in that do not allow you to hear others around you as this could be dangerous.  Be aware of your surroundings. No mobile phone. Resting horses is to be in corners of the pen to stand away from horses that are moving.

The Warm up configuration and tractor etiquette can be located on the show conditions page of the website.

  • Bump in is Monday.  If you are keen to assist in helping the team set up please let us know and you maybe able to come on Sunday.

  • As soon as the team have set up the arena the pen will be open for riding and not before.  If you would like to get in sooner, please offer your help as many hands make light work – remember this is all for you run by volunteers
